Welcome to the Sleeper Public Library
We are situated in the Village of Ubly in the Thumb of Michigan. We invite you to visit us during our normal business hours.
Welcome to our new website! Take the time and check out the many extras that are now available here for you. I am excited to have this new avenue as a way to connect with you on what is happening at the Library and also in our community. I have added a lot of new links for everyone from ages 1 to 101.
Sleeper Public Library has been a part of Ubly for over 103 years and we are proud of it. I love working here and will continue to encourage children & adults to keep reading and using our resources and facilities.
Your Director & Librarian,
Barbara Butch

Our newest addition to the Library

The Library has been adopted by a kitten. If you are allergic to cats be sure to tell us when you come in and we will put him in the office while you are at the library.
His name is Booker. Actually his full name is Booker Theodorus Sleeper. We will take pictures and post them so everyone can see his progress. Better yet you are welcome to come in and cuddle with him. He is very much a little gentleman. He likes to sit by the checkout and have people pet him or he will lay on the keyboard and try to nap. He likes to sit on laps and loves to be around anyone who may be doing homework or reading.
We do ask that if you are in the library to please be gentle with Booker. He is only 5 months old at this time and is basically still a baby. We are trying to train him to be gentle with everyone so if you see him start to nip or scratch be sure to gently tell him "no" and walk away. This will get him to stop and follow you.
Because we cannot use library funds for the kitten we do have a donation box at the checkout area. These funds will be used for treats, food, litter, treats, shots, treats...you know all the essentials. Here are a few additional pictures of Booker and what he does during the day:

- Work and research from the office or from home, anytime
Good Reads
- Book reviews, top sellers, author interviews, and news headlines
